Under general supervision, develops a social media plan for the agency and improves agency presence in social media platforms. This position requires the ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.  This position will additionally serve as an Outreach Specialist, building relationships with community partners in order to improve referrals to the agency. This position reports directly to VOCA Program Coordinator or Program Coordinator. This is a non-exempt position, does not require overtime and hours of work are from Monday to Friday. Most tasks could be performed remotely.

Education and Experience

1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Communications, Marketing, Social Media, or related field is preferred.

  1. 1-3 years of experience with B2C social media marketing or content development

  2. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus.

  3. Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprinklr)

  4. Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML

  5. Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space

  6. Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills

  7. Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

  8. Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask

  9. Be bilingual, read, write and speak Spanish is required.

Essential Functions

  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy to increase awareness about program services.

  • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.

  • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.

  • Attend events and produce live social media content.

  • Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels.

  • Collaborate with marketing team to create a social media calendar.

  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends.

  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.

  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.

  • Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.

  • Build relationships with community partners or agencies to improve referral systems for clients and to increase pool and knowledge of community resources available. Keep an updated list/directory of community resources


Outreach Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Work with other members of the outreach team to create a comprehensive, yearly outreach and awareness plan for the agency

  • Create regular digital newsletters to keep community agencies and clients informed on Centro activities and agency updates 

  • Manage the social media accounts for the agency

  • Participate in ongoing training in marketing, outreach, and social media engagement specifically for nonprofit organizations to advance the mission and vision of Centro Multicultural.

All other duties as assigned by the Victim Services Program Director or Program Coordinator within the scope of this position that contributes to the advancement of CMLF as a premier provider of services for people with emotional needs. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable safety and health policies and procedures.
